Madalena Barbosa
From Porto, Portugal
Madalena holds a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures (Portuguese and French Studies) from the University of Algarve and has been teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language for over 15 years. She has worked with learners of many different nationalities, both in group and individual lessons.
In addition to her teaching experience, she has coordinated Portuguese language programmes, trained teachers and developed creative learning resources.
Born in Porto and raised in the Algarve, she enjoys reading, discovering new cultures, spending quality time with family and friends, travelling, and being close to nature. Passionate about languages and cultures, she loves helping her students feel confident and enjoy the process of learning Portuguese.

Maria is a European Portuguese Teacher with several years of experience teaching Portuguese as a foreign language at various institutions both in Portugal and abroad.
She is currently pursuing a PhD in Linguistics at NOVA FCSH, where she also completed her Postgraduate Degree in Portuguese as a Second and Foreign Language, as well as her MA in Linguistics.

Karoline Augustin

Karoline holds a Teaching Degree in English from UNISINOS and a Postgraduate Diploma in Portuguese as a Second/Foreign Language from Universidade do Porto.
She has been teaching Portuguese to adults from diverse backgrounds for the past four years and English for over a decade. Karoline has taught students from Brazil, Portugal, the USA, the UK and Australia and has also worked as a Portuguese teaching intern at the University of Ljubljana.
Karoline loves travelling and getting to know new people and cultures. Having lived in Ireland, Slovenia, and now Portugal, she is passionate about helping students develop confidence and fluency in a new language.
Josefina L. Simões

Josefina is a Brazilian teacher from São Paulo who holds a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, a post graduation in Bilingual education and a teaching Degree in Languages (English / Portuguese).
She has experience teaching Portuguese to foreigners at universities, at language schools and with preparatory CELPE-Bras courses.
Josefina has been teaching kids, teenagers and adults for 14 years and also works on a project providing Portuguese courses for refugees.

Dener was born and raised in Santo André, near São Paulo City, Brazil. He has been teaching Brazilian Portuguese for several years. He has a bachelor’s degree in Language and Literature from São Paulo State University (UNESP) and a Master’s degree in Modern Foreign Language Teaching from Londrina State University (UEL).
He has experience teaching young learners and adults for different purposes.

Liz is the Managing Director of the Portuguese Language Centre and has been working with the school since August 2015. She is responsible for the administration, finance, business planning and recruitment areas of the school and enjoys participating in the creative strategy.

Vanessa Regufe
From Porto, Portugal
Vanessa is a European Portuguese Teacher from the vibrant northern city of Porto. She was a Trainee Teacher (2014-15) both in Prague and Brno (Czech Republic) and since then she has been teaching students from all over the world, both at schools in the north of Portugal as well as with Instituto Camões.
Vanessa has a BA in Law from Faculdade de Direito da Universidade do Porto and an MA in Teaching Portuguese as a Second and Foreign language from Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto.
Vanessa is currently teaching group and private classes at the Portuguese Language Centre.
